With Christmas party nights and festive fun just around the corner, it’s time to treat yourself to a little self care, so you can go into the season ahead looking and feeling your best.
ishga Spa Trainer and Account Manager, Gill, shares her top tips for maintaining your skin’s glow through the party season, and beyond!
Stay hydrated
With fizz flowing and cocktails in abundance, it can be hard to remember to drink our old friend, H2O! Drinking water will not only make you feel better, but your skin will thank you for it too. Drinking alcohol can dehydrate you, so it’s important to keep up your water levels which will keep your body hydrated and help maintain skin elasticity. Did you know, that drinking more water can help to reduce the appearance of scars, soft lines and wrinkles and slows down the signs of ageing?
Double cleanse
Wearing heavier make-up than usual? A double cleanse will remove all residue of makeup, dirt, oils and cell build up to leave skin refreshed. I recommend cleansing first with ishga Marine Cleansing Balm, then follow with ishga Active Cleansing Lotion before continuing with the rest of your skincare routine.
Tackle winter dryness
For those that suffer with dry skin, colder weather can cause flare ups of dry patches and skin irritation. To lock in moisture during winter, I like to double up with ishga Nourishing Face Oil before using a moisturiser like ishga Hydra+ Marine Cream, which ensures my skin barrier is protected and fully hydrated all day and night long. This is a great step to do at nighttime to wake up with a healthy glow.
Get legs party ready
My favourite tip for getting my legs party ready is to use ishga Hebridean Sea Salt Scrub in the shower or bath before rinsing, and then applying an ishga body oil for a glow like no other! The scrub contains a blend of pure sea salt to exfoliate, and essential oils to nourish and lock in moisture. It’s a step I can’t miss in party night prep!
Make a date
Christmas can often be a time we forget to take care of ourselves as we rush around for others and get caught up in the festive madness. To recover from the festivities and set yourself up for the new year ahead, it can be a good idea to plan in some self care time in January. Why not book a spa day with the girls, or make an appointment for a facial or massage in the new year at an ishga spa partner. It’ll give you something to look forward to and allow you to reset your mind and body for 2025.
