ishga is proud to partner with the country’s most luxurious hotels and spas throughout the UK and beyond.
Seaham Hall is a Georgian country house hotel located in the North East of England. Rich in heritage, beautiful design and breathtaking views, the hotel is home to the award-winning Serenity Spa. The spa draws its inspiration from the Far East, and you can be guaranteed to have a relaxing and rejuvenating stay.
Seaham Hall is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this month. Huge congratulations to the team on reaching this significant milestone! We’re catching up with Spa Manager Amanda to find out more about the exciting plans for the spas 20th year.
Hi Amanda! Can you please introduce yourself and what you do at the Serenity Spa at Seaham Hall?
I’m Amanda Jayne Jennings, Spa Manager at Serenity Spa. I am the lead for all spa operations, development and visionary for the Serenity Spa with a team of 40 strong individuals across spa management, spa membership, fitness & wellbeing, spa therapists and front of house.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the team at Seaham Hall?
The team at Seaham Hall are incredible! I love to nurture talent and progress growth so for me this is the best part of leading team Seaham. Our team are the heartbeat of Serenity Spa, they have the ability to create a timeless sense of togetherness celebrating, strength and diversity whilst having lots of fun along the way!
You have your 20th Anniversary this month. What is Seaham Hall doing to mark the occasion?
20 years is a huge milestone, and I am immensely proud of all that the Serenity Spa has achieved in the decade I have had the pleasure of being a part of. Testament to the Serenity Spa is the continued evolution and the aim for 2023 is to elevate experiences and positively move the future of spa forward! Earlier in December we celebrated 20 years of Serenity Spa with an unforgettable spa member’s celebration. We also have lots of limited edition spa experiences, product masterclasses, carefully created champagne cocktails and of course treasured time with the team (bring on the birthday cake!).
What are the biggest changes you have seen in the spa industry since you started working at Seaham?
Over the past 10 years, there has been a huge amount of change and challenge across the spa industry. Hyper personalisation continues to be hugely evolving. Spas now need to be able to adapt their offering to allow top end personalisation that is meaningful to the desired individual. Another much needed change is the enhancement of touchless therapies to support holistic health and therapist wellbeing. These smart additions really support the moment of spas looking after not only physical health but mental and spiritual health too!
Why was the Far East used as inspiration for the Serenity Spa?
The Far East is renowned for its holistic practices that focus on the mind, body and soul designed to bring inner peace and calm. This is truly Serenity Spa’s meaning and motto. Balance is of utmost importance in people’s everyday life and the Serenity Spa is heavily influence by Feng Shui in both design, arrangement and ethos to create an immersive wellness experience.
What is your favourite ishga treatment at Serenity Spa?
Our ishga Regenerating 60 minute Facial is my personal favourite, perfect for this time of year to rejuvenate and repair skin cells and leave you with the ultimate winter glow.
Is there anything else coming up at Seaham Hall in the future that you would like to share with us?
2023 is a year for innovation and we are looking forward to launching the addition of Swell sound treatments to enhance our ishga partnership. This development will see ishga evolve our upper-level treatment floor as a flagship, working in harmony with sound to elope into deeper relaxation.
