Your skin barrier is layer of skin is made up of strong skin cells that provide an essential defence to your body. Without this layer protecting you, all sorts of pollution and toxins would be able to get through. It also works to keep water inside of your body, allowing you to stay hydrated.
As skincare lovers, it's so easy to accumulate many different products over time (our skincare shelves are fully stocked!). It's important to keep track of when it's time to replace them, ensuring that your skincare routine is not hampered by poorly performing expired lotions and serums.
Often dry and dehydrated skin will be confused as the same thing, when they are actually separate skin concerns. Dry skin is cause by a lack of oil and is a skin type, whereas dehydrated skin needs hydrated and treating it can be easily remedied. The simplest way to avoid getting dehydrated skin is to make sure you are drinking plenty of water each day, even if you don’t feel thirsty, keep drinking water throughout the day to ensure your skin is getting the H2O it needs. Alongside a good skincare routine, you'll be glowing!
